Hybrid in office in St. Charles, MO 3 days per week and can work from home 2 days.

Job Summary

We are hiring a Leave and Wellness Specialist in the St. Charles, MO area to support employees during important life moments and promote a healthy, engaged workforce. This role partners with employees, leaders, and vendors to administer leave programs, support the ADA interactive process, and coordinate wellness initiatives—while ensuring compliance, handling confidential information with care, and delivering a high‑quality employee experience. Offering a hybrid schedule (3 days in office) in a supportive, people‑focused culture.

Job Responsibilities

Leave Administration

  • Process and manage internally administered leave programs, such as bereavement and other non–vendor-managed leaves.
  • Assist the Benefits Specialist in all aspects of the leave lifecycle, including FMLA, STD, LTD, and other company leave programs.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees and third-party vendors regarding leave-related questions, documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate leave notifications impacting payroll, benefits, and return-to-work status with HR peers, payroll, and business partners.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records of leave activity within the HRIS and review reports related to leave trends and utilization.

 

ADA Interactive Process & Accommodations

  • Conduct the ADA interactive process by partnering with employees and managers to identify and implement reasonable accommodation.
  • Coordinate with internal partners and third-party providers to obtain, review, and validate required medical documentation.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate, and confidential records of all accommodation requests, interactive discussions, decisions, and outcomes.
  • Ensure all accommodation practices align with ADA and applicable state regulations.

 

Wellness Program Coordination

  • Design, implement, and evaluate a wellness strategy addressing physical, mental, and financial well-being through workshops, screenings, challenges, and education.
  • Coordinate and distribute wellness communications to promote program awareness and utilization through weekly and quarterly materials.
  • Collect and review employee feedback and implement wellness initiatives based on employee needs and participation trends.
  • Partner with the Benefits Specialist and external vendors to ensure effective program delivery and strong return on investment.

 

Compliance, Confidentiality & Continuous Learning

  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive medical and personal employee information.
  • Stay current on federal, state, and local labor laws related to leave, accommodations, and benefits to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Enhance job knowledge related to leave administration, ADA, and employee wellness through conferences, webinars, and professional training opportunities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year of work experience required, or a minimum of five years of progressive job experience including people, project, or leadership and influencing skills required.  
  • 3–5 years of HR experience with responsibility for leave administration and ADA accommodations required.  HR certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, STD, LTD, and applicable state leave laws.
  • Ability to build and market wellness initiatives that drive employee engagement.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Office Suite, HRIS systems, and SAP preferred.

Pay: $61,787 - $73,372 a year
