Job Summary
As the Production Manager, you’ll be responsible for supporting all functions in the facility to ensure the attainment of efficiency, quality, and safety objectives, as well as the implementation of strategies aimed at enhancing productivity and reducing costs.
Job Responsibilities
Safety:
- Ensure all equipment systems meet our safety program standards and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, report hazards, and promote a culture of safety among team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop the workforce through supervision, coaching, and training.
- Monitor and manage daily manufacturing operations to ensure adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Evaluate KPIs and KBIs to pinpoint improvement opportunities and ensure adherence to budgetary goals
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain, to resolve production issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct root cause analysis for operational problems and develop corrective and preventive actions.
- Implement and manage Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma practices to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Provide training and support to manufacturing staff on new processes, equipment, and best practices.
- Develop and analyze the budget vs. planned forecast; report it to appropriate parties as needed.
Innovation:
- Stay current with emerging trends and advancement in equipment technologies, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, and accountability within the technical operations department to drive employee engagement and performance.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year of work experience required, or a minimum of five years of progressive job experience including people, project, or account management with leadership and influencing skills required.
- Prior experience in supervisory roles.
- Previous manufacturing experience, focused on maintenance, quality and/or production required. Prior experience with the food and beverage industry preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, displaying year-over-year improvement in plant KPIs.
- Working knowledge of the principles of manufacturing management, supply chain capabilities, including strategies and interdependencies.
- Capability to partner cross-functionally with other teams and coordinate efforts around process improvement.
- Solid working knowledge of national, state, and local regulatory requirements in Food Safety, Safety, Environment and Emergency Management.
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and LEAN Six Sigma in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of and background with HACCP requirements.
- Strong computer and database application skills.
- Knowledge of and experience with ISO (22000, 9000, 14001, etc.) or other management system.
- Working knowledge of the principles of Continuous Improvement, Change Management, and Leadership.
