Job Description
The Supervisor – Sales Full Service is responsible for overseeing the business relationship with a group of customers, providing supervision for Delivery Merchandisers. This position will maintain accuracy of outlet orders and capture selling opportunities, while ensuring monthly and yearly sales goals are achieved in the most effective manner.
What your day will look like:
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the UNITED policies and applicable laws
- Interview, hire, and train associates
- Plan, assign, and direct work
- Appraise performance
- Address complaints and resolve problems
- Builds positive associate morale
- Tracks, measures and analyzes execution of Picture of Success (PicOs) across each area of responsibility using the internal execution trackers available
- Supervises delivery merchandisers and other associates
- Works weekend supervisor duty on a rotating schedule
- Ensures orders are accurate and that product returned to Company facility is properly processed
- Documents performance and conducts performance management meetings for SHINE assessments and disciplinary action
- Completes accident reports and conducts accident investigations for delivery merchandisers and other associates
- Provides merchandising skills and safety training
- Rides with associates new to the job and performs merchandising functions alongside new associates to train on Company merchandising expectations
- Evaluates associates progress during the new hire training process. Drives tractor trailers and other Company vehicles
- Backs up and assists merchandisers on routes; performs merchandising duties and tasks as needed
- Reviews orders in computer against product loaded in truck
- Accurately accounts for all monies, invoices, products, and inventory
- Maintains delivery efficiencies and driver settlement daily
- Maintains good customer relations with store representatives
- Addresses customer requests and complaints
- Manages accountability for driver Pre-Trip/Post-Trip inspections, as required, on assigned vehicles
- Perform all of the daily functions associated with managing Full-Service Route personnel such as issuing keys, money bags, change funds, accountability summary reviews, route reviews, etc.
- Manage and review Full-Service Key Business Indicators (cash yields, fill rates, scheduled/made/filled, etc.)
- Manage local risk management issues (truck audits, investigations, security, and safety)
- Maintain accurate internal data such as consignment, pricing, vend rate, and commission schedules
- Build relationships with assigned customers using routines and call frequencies
- Responsible for account planning and management of the account list
- Merchandises stores
- Leads the call for each assigned customer and is responsible for selling in key initiatives such as price, package plan, business results, new brands, promotions and marketing activities
- Assist (takes the lead) in the negotiation and renewal of contracts as needed – Customer marketing agreements
What you need to succeed:
- Minimum of 21 years old
- Class A commercial driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
- Ability to obtain class A commercial driver's license within 90 days and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
- Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
- Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
- Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Proven ability to coach and manage needs and concerns of multiple associates
- High school diploma or general education degree; or 2 to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Prior supervisory experience required
Physical Requirements
Position will be required to comply with the CCBCU Personal Protective Equipment Program. Position is required to wear safety toed shoes when performing the following tasks: Operating Powered Industrial Equipment or Working in an Area where Powered Industrial Equipment is in use, Fleet Maintenance, Working with Palletized Product, Use of Hand Trucks/Dollies to Deliver Product, Cooler Services, etc.
