Work days/Shift Hours – 4 days a week to include weekends, 6 AM- 5 PM.
Compensation: Starting pay $27.75-$38.23 / Based on experience . Additional local incentives may apply such as an extra week of pay, referral bonuses and more.
General Purpose
The role of a Predictive Maintenance Technician (PM tech) is to ensure production equipment and systems are maintained such that they are available to deliver quality products according to schedule requirements and according to safety, environmental, and health procedures and regulations. This is accomplished by managing and leading the Preventive & Predictive Maintenance program for equipment and processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor the health status of the overall preventive maintenance program for equipment, processes, and facilities. Provide leadership to Production and Maintenance Teams to support compliance to the preventive maintenance program.
- Provide communication to the Production Teams, Maintenance Planners, Parts Buyers, and Maintenance Leadership Teams on the performance of the preventive and predictive maintenance program, equipment, and processes.
- Monitor production equipment performance with predictive tools to identify potential failures and correct before a failure occurs. Continually looking for opportunities for improvement of equipment and process reliability.
- Support facility maintenance in assigned production areas and maintain clean and safe work area.
- Generate parts requests within the maintenance planning system to ensure adequate inventory.
- Generate and complete work orders within the maintenance planning systems as assigned.
- Perform equipment and process Predictive and Preventive activities that are beyond the scope of the Production Technicians, including overhaul maintenance.
- Rebuild and fabricate parts as needed
- Continually look to improve the performance of production and support equipment, identify areas for improvement, communicating solutions and sharing best practice across the facility.
- Execute the maintenance work schedule as provided by his/her supervisor. Proper execution of the work schedule will require strategic decisions to ensure the scheduled work will be completed within the period scheduled.
- Examine jobs to be done and determine scope and best way to accomplish the work. Consult with requester, maintenance planner, and/or supervisor when necessary.
- Obtain one-lines, drawings, instructional manuals and special procedures, as needed, from files or other sources. Make any additional sketches, diagrams, etc., necessary to clarify the intent of the work order.
- Ensure the safety needs are given a top priority in operations support and work execution. Some examples are Arc Flash/Shock Hazard safety, confined space entry, LOTO, hazardous materials, hand tool safe use, etc.
- Update the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) as necessary to maintain accurate plant asset historical records.
- Have complete knowledge of plants's processes and packaging systems.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in the execution of the work schedule and operational support. Ensure the shop is maintained in a safe and orderly fashion.
- Enforce plant polices in the execution of their assigned duties.
- Protect the integrity and quality of product at all times.
- Attend meetings and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
- Recommend equipment and components to be included in predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
- Suggest improvements to all maintenance processes, including planning scheduling, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, CMMS, storeroom operations, etc.
- Promote the conservation of energy and water.
- Make recommendations for system improvement.
- Maintain necessary records and files and distributes meaningful and accurate control reports.
- Recommend additions to storeroom stock.
- Perform other tasks and special assignments as requested by management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; technical mfg. trade, or Associate’s Degree preferred.
- Basic industrial math skills, English language reading comprehension and writing
- 3-5 Years of manufacturing maintenance experience focused on preventive and predictive maintenance preferred.
- Basic computer skills, operation of touch screen computers (HMIs)
- Experience with the use of predictive maintenance technologies (vibration, thermal imaging, IOT sensors, sonic/ultrasonic, etc.)
- Follow standard predictive maintenance and preventive maintenance methods
- Ability to read gauges, dials, thermometers, rulers, and other digital display devices
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written schedules, flow charts, and flow diagrams
- Ability to follow manufacturers specifications and schematics.
- Able to read one-line diagrams, blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to read and interpret a variety of technical data, such as schematics, one-line diagrams, and technical orders related to predictive maintenance.
- Maintenance background, which includes hydraulics, motors, gear boxes, pneumatics, bearings, and electrical components.
- Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under stressful situations
- Must be able to work flexible shift schedules up to 12-hour shifts as determined by business need
- Ability to engage in continuous learning activities
- Previous experience within high-speed industrial environment
- Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude
- Basic Electrical troubleshooting skills, with the demonstrated ability to wire a motor, replace prox switches, and photoeyes.
- This position will require standing for extended periods, walking, lifting, climbing, crouching, bending, reaching, and stooping
- Basic Programmable Logic Control (PLC) knowledge preferred.
- May be required to supply hand tools.
- Perform all tasks in a safe manner to ensure achievement of Quality, Service, Cost, Sustainability, and Safety objectives.
- Knowledge of safety, environmental, and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of regulations, procedures, and policies related to records maintenance and documentation.
