Work days/Shift Hours – if applicable: Monday - Friday / 7AM - 5PM (There may be some Saturdays or later shifts to cover needs of the business. )
Compensation: Subject to compensation/promotional guidelines. Additional local incentives may apply such as an extra week of pay, referral bonuses and more.

 

General Purpose

Responsible for the supervision of the daily operations of the Fleet Maintenance department within the designated area along with ensuring that all Fleet equipment is maintained in a safe and serviceable manner. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that preventative maintenance programs are being followed at all locations.  
  • Performs quality control audits.  
  • Ensures accuracy of documentation generated by employees and vendors for all maintenance activities.  
  • Generates capital refurbishment schedule based on need and available capital funding.  
  • Provide training for all subordinate personnel.  
  • Ensure proper disposal and documentation of waste stream items.  
  • Assists subordinates in making decisions concerning efficiency of shop operations.  
  • Ensure all maintenance and repairs are performed in a cost effective manner.  
  • Supervise operations to ensure compliance according to Company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.  
  • Ensures that parts inventories are maintained at correct efficiency levels.  
  • Coordinates members of all functional areas to ensure that equipment needs are met.  
  • Ensure that all vehicles are prepared for transfer or disposal as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required. 
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in Fleet Maintenance with 2 years of supervisory experience required.  Ability to provide direction to subordinates in a clear and concise manner.  Valid Class A Commercial Driving License.  Ability to work a flexible work schedule if needed.  Must be able to lift and move items in excess of 50 lbs.  Requires travel to designated service area.  Demonstrated PC skills.  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  Ability to work well under pressure.  Self-motivated, able to manage expectations and prioritize to meet deadlines.  Class A Mechanic certification preferred.  Extensive automotive and mechanical knowledge.  Prepare and manage budgets.  Knowledge of DOT, MOT and CVIP compliance programs, as well as PM programs and liaison with these government bodies.  Must be organized, computer literate, a good communicator, diplomatic and able to multi-task.
