General Purpose

The Shopper Marketing Manager leads all shopper marketing initiatives for assigned customers to help deliver the business plan, ensure we are our customer’s most valued supplier, and to advance The Coca-Cola Commitment to help our customers and Coca-Cola win together. 

 

Key to the role is driving buyer conversion & shopper loyalty through holistic, proprietary insights-driven shopper solutions that leverage Coca-Cola category and brand strategies and initiatives. 

 

By following the Collaborative Business Planning process and the Coca-Cola Way of Shopper Marketing, as outlined by TCCC Shopper Marketing Center of Excellence, the Shopper Marketing Manager helps us connect with our customers, create compelling value propositions, and align to win in market. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create annual collaborative marketing business plans with clear understanding of customer strategies and shopper insights. 
  • Be the voice of the customer; be best advocate for customer with the system. 
  • Initiate, develop, or customize programs that help our customers drive traffic, loyalty, conversion and basket size. 
  • Advance shopper marketing leadership capabilities including best in class messaging, customer media, emerging shopper technologies and social connections to our brands. 
  • Build strong customer connections by providing proprietary marketing solutions that contribute to becoming our customer’s most valued supplier. 
  • Embed customer marketing discipline; enhance brand equity, sell occasions & deploy inspirational imagery. 
  • Deliver programs that align or enhance the Picture of Success, brand and channel priorities, but are also unique enough to inspire the customer. 
  • Maximize the effectiveness of marketing investments through a rigorous ROI and post program analysis process. 
  • Leverage the Company’s marketing assets against key brand plan initiatives to drive excitement with customers that leads to incremental growth. 
  • Grow strategic alliances with the Company’s Snacking Division and other CPG companies to create effective “Power of Many” bundling plans. 
  • Be a strong cross functional team support to the Account Executives, with the ability to problem solve & capitalize on incremental opportunities. 
  • Work collaboratively with Creative Activation, Revenue Growth Management, Channel Commercialization, and Category Advisory to deliver programs that maximize efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Effectively build business cases that drive growth and then sell them in to the customer. 
  • Balance the priorities of the customers and Company’s key stakeholders to provide win-win solutions. 
Qualifications

Education:  

  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • Master’s desired. 

Experience:  

MINIMUM:   

  • 5 years’ experience, preferably in the consumer goods/beverages industry 
  • Shopper insights, category management and shopper marketing experience 
  • Collaborating with brand/category teams and other key internal/external stakeholders; effective in influencing a wide variety of stakeholders, particularly in situations where Commercial leadership may have accountability for doing the work but may not have control over all decisions 
  • Knowledge of brand strategy and application across channels, including local marketing 
  • Knowledge of key consumption occasions, shopper messaging, and methods of activation and ability to localize for customers 
  • Proven track record for delivering sustainable results 

PREFERRED: 

  • Extensive marketing and sales experience, particularly in area of customer or shopper marketing 
  • Customer/sales management experience 
  • Experience in the commercial planning process 
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams 
  • Brand management experience, or deep understanding of how to build brand equity 
  • Experience building and monitoring annual business plans 
  • Proven track record of leading cross functional teams and people management 
  • Demonstrated reputation for customer engagement with ability to drive mutual business results 
  • Experience/comfort establishing external relationships with other CPG companies
