General Purpose

To support and drive execution of Arca Continental (AC) Safety programs at the facility level and support Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages (CCSWB) Market Unit and Supply Chain performance. Execute the AC Internal Audit program at the facilities to identify gaps in adherence to AC/CCSWB policies, Federal, State and Local regulations, related to Safety. Leverage the Management System to execute facilitate partnership with facilities and Market Unit Leadership to identify actions needed to remediate issues to ensure compliance to CCSWB Policies, Federal, State and Local regulations, related to Safety. Drive consistent Safety message at all levels of the organization through interaction with hourly employees up through Market Unit Leadership. Identify and surface potential hazards that may need further review, and possible company program development. 
Interact with governmental agencies, including but not limited to OSHA and DOT, on an as needed basis. Work with Risk Management, Claims Department, TPA, Outside Adjustors, Outside Counsel, etc to provide support on an as needed basis. 
 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a resource to AC/CCSWB line organization regarding AC/CCSWB policies, KORE Safety Policies, Federal, State and Local regulations, related to Safety standards and procedures to achieve a zero-incident workplace.
  • Execution of AC/CCSWB Safety Plan. 
  • Lead and/or facilitate location strategic and tactical teams.
  • Perform Safety Audits within all Market Unit locations and Supply Chain and reporting results to MU leadership team.
  • Partner with local management to identify and implement corrective actions during safety audits, self-inspections, investigations, hazard assessments, etc. 
  • Coordinate investigations and see that incident investigations are conducted in a timely manner which would include; but not be limited to the following:
    • required incident investigation documentation, determining accident classification, corrective action needed and/or to provide support to the Claims Department.
  • Attend and support Safety Committees within each MU. 
  • Assess risks associated within AC/CCSWB processes and act to minimize/eliminate those risks.
  • Provide specialized Safety expertise and assist in developing location knowledge of Safety regulations and AC/CCSWB standards.
  • Assist in defining, obtaining, coordinating and maintaining necessary safety reports, permits, communications and safety self-assessments for each MU location.
  • Manage and analyze safety data to drive continuous improvement as it relates to World Class Safety Performance. 
  • Develop and update Safety programs and safe work instructions. 
  • Be available to help in emergencies and special projects on nights and weekends. 
  • Monitor and manage AC/CCSWB Safety training matrix. 
  • Assist in coordinating fire drills and other emergency drills. 
  • Involve line organization personnel to address day to day health and safety concerns. 
  • Assist the safety SPOC’s and Safety Champions with their Safety programs. 
  • Update health and safety postings, bulletin boards and safety communications with assistance from the SPOC’s, Safety Champions or Safety designees. 
  • Develop and facilitate Safety Training and Safety Toolbox Topics as needed. 
  • Assist Safety Manager with various projects up to and including other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree required. Combination of minimum and preferred experience with some education will be considered. 
  • 3-5 years Safety Experience or related discipline required. 
  • Prior Manufacturing, DOT, bottling and multi unit experience preferred. 
  • Previous consumer products industry preferred. 
  • Prior work within manufacturing/distribution organization a plus. 
  • Strong PC skills including a high level of proficiency in Word, Excel & PowerPoint 
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT and Hazardous Material management concepts and techniques 
  • Knowledge of Kore requirements, concepts and techniques
  • Ability to train and educate employees on safety, OSHA, and DOT management concepts 
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle confidential information in a discreet manner. 
  • Ability to function independently and take the initiative until activities are complete. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. 
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills. 
  • Ability to organize and lead large company sponsored events. 
  • Ability to function under pressure while handling multiple assignments with various deadlines. 
  • Ability to Bend/stoop, sit, lift, squat, walk, crouch, reach, and operate keyboard/calculator are required.
  • Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicles Records check.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Up to 50% travel
