General Purpose

The Risk Management & Claims Analyst is responsible for assisting with the overall management of insurance claims and company risk management functions. Reporting to the Director - Risk Management, this position will work closely with insurance adjusters, insurance brokers, the Safety and Legal teams, and other internal stakeholders

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Director - Risk Management in administering the Property, Workers' Compensation, General Liability, and Auto Liability insurance programs and claims handling process
  • Manage day-to-day interaction between brokers, adjusters, and insurers related to risk management and claims issues.
  • Handle incoming certificate of insurance requests from customers and review certificates of insurance received from vendors and suppliers for compliance with contract requirements.
  • Review insurance and claims related billings for approvals.
  • Manage claim-related activities; liaise with Legal and internal business group on claim related matters.
  • Review, assess, and process incoming claims related email and mail for proper handling of claim files.
  • Prepare insurance renewal applications and submissions.
  • Review contractual insurance requirements and make recommendations on appropriate insurance language.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Insurance, Risk Management, or Business preferred).
  • Five+ years of risk management and insurance experience required.
  • Insurance designation(s) (ARM, CPCU, CRM, CIC) a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and RMIS/claims systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and work independently.
  • Attention to detail is a must, as are excellent organizational skills and an ability to multitask.
