General Purpose

The continuous improvement coordinator will receive coaching and direction from the site continuous improvement lead to support the implementation of lean workplace principles and practices in the site to improve critical processes and reduce process waste. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Development, validation & implementation of process-machines standard operating procedures, work instructions, checklists, change-over documents, CIL’s, center lining, etc.  
  • Train front-line employees in the above documents.  
  • Participate in site continuous improvement activities (Kaizen, Just Do It, DMAIC, 5S events) and follow up on completion of activities and results sustainment.  
  • Develop, coach & mentor front line employees on Continuous Improvement journey transformation and most efficient use of Lean Methodologies & Tools.  
  • Coach High Performance Teams (Star Tips) on root cause analysis, actions to improve critical KPI’s.  
  • Coach front line employees on Daily Management System and routines.  
  • Identify front line employee(s) for rotation into CI technician and coach-mentor him into the role.  
  • Support on the implementation of I-Cards. (Improvement Ideas)  
  • Identify waste reduction-elimination opportunities in the critical processes. 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Technical school training or equivalent experience in basic maintenance, cleaning and sanitation, and inspection and lubrication on machinery preferred  
  • 1-3 Years of manufacturing experience with machine operations and general machine sanitation, cleaning, inspection, and maintenance preferred  
  • Basic math skills, English language reading comprehension and writing  
  • Basic computer skills, operation of Touch Screen computers/HMIs  
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written schedules, flow charts, and flow diagrams  
  • Follow standard trouble shooting and root cause analysis methods  
  • Ability to engage in continuous learning activities  
  • Ability to work in structured team environment
