Schedule: Schedule: 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays.

Job Description

The Lead Fleet Technician is responsible for performing repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance on company fleet vehicles to include diesel and gasoline trucks, trailers, pallet jacks, forklifts and automobiles. The Fleet Technician is tasked with maintaining fleet according to DOT and other regulatory requirements to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all company vehicles and equipment.  This role will assist in the leading and training of other fleet employees.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and complete repairs on all types of vehicles
  • Schedule and perform routine maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups.
  • Test drive vehicles and test components, systems, and equipment
  • Work with team members to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems, to discuss work to be performed, and future repair requirements
  • Responds to service calls
  • Maintain tools
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area
  • Coordinate and monitor department repair and employee work schedules
  • Assist in the new and ongoing training of fleet employees

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent  
  • Automotive/Mechanical Trade or Vocational certification preferred
  • 2 + years of mechanic experience on light and heavy equipment required
  • Must be able to supply automotive hand tools
  • Class A Commercial Driver’s License preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Travel, as required, to service calls
  • ASE Certicication preferred
  • Physical requirements: Sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel/squat, climb stairs, overhead reach, grasp, and lift, carry, push/pull up to 50 lbs.
