Job Description
The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for supervision and scheduling of Transportation Drivers and common carriers transporting finished goods to Sales Centers. The Transportation Supervisor is also responsible for supervision of employees in the Shipping & Receiving Department.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure replenishment distribution to Sales Centers is effective and productive
- Review, monitor and address full goods inventory levels to minimize potential out of stock risk
- Work with Planning and Transportation teams to schedule and prioritize product replenishments
- Function as operations liaison to Sales Centers providing a high level of customer service
- Actively participate with Warehouse and Sales Center management teams within Division
- Supervise and develop a team of direct reports including Transport Drivers and Shipping & Receiving personnel
- Ensure operational compliance with DOT rules and regulations for all Transport Drivers
- Facilitate monthly safety training for direct reports
- Maintain optimum fleet utilization
Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field preferred
- 3+ years of Warehouse, Supply Chain, Operations or Logistics experience required
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Basic technical knowledge and working experience with SAP preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel and Word
- Strong analytical, decision making and problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization, to clearly articulate relevant ideas, opinions and information
