Job Description

The Master Data Manager is responsible for leading the strategy, governance, and execution of master data management across key business domains such as customer, vendor, and material. This role plays a central part in enabling operational excellence by ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal standards and external regulations.

The Master Data Manager leads initiatives that ensure seamless data flow between internal systems and external trading partners, enabling efficient order-to-cash and procure-to-pay cycles. This includes overseeing EDI testing, implementation, and ongoing optimization.

In addition to technical oversight, the Master Data Manager leads a team of data professionals and drives cross-functional projects that align data strategy with business objectives. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of leadership, systems thinking, and hands-on experience with enterprise data and integration technologies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the master data team, ensuring timely and accurate data entry and updates.
  • Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve data quality issues.
  • Monitor data integrity across systems and perform regular audits.
  • Lead EDI testing efforts for new trading partners and document results.
  • Coordinate with Key Accounts, Customers, and external partners to implement EDI transactions (e.g., 850, 856, 810).
  • Troubleshoot EDI transmission errors and ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain EDI mapping documentation and support ongoing enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline data processes and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, JSOX requirements, and data privacy regulations.
  • Support system upgrades and data migration projects.
  • Train and mentor master data analysts and specialists.
  • Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and data stewardship.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Business, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in master data management, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Understanding of EDI standards and protocols preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data governance tools, including SQL, Snowflake and MS Office suite.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
