Job Description
The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining BI solutions that transform raw data into actionable insights and intuitive end-user experiences. This role involves working with BI and AI-enabled tools, creating data models, developing reports and dashboards, and applying emerging technologies to improve decision-making across the organization. The BI Developer will collaborate with analysts, business stakeholders, and IT teams to deliver reliable, creative, and user-friendly analytics solutions that make data easier to understand, access, and act on.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain BI solutions. Design, implement, and optimize reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker to meet business needs.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency. Work with data engineers and analysts to validate data sources, maintain data quality, and implement governance best practices to ensure reliable reporting.
- Optimize performance, usability, and end-user experience. Develop efficient data models, queries, and ETL processes while designing dashboards and reporting tools that are intuitive, accessible, and aligned to how end users make decisions. Incorporate user feedback, usability best practices, and creative design thinking to improve adoption and business value.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams. Work closely with business users, analysts, and IT teams to understand data requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for BI-related issues.
- Stay updated on BI, AI, and analytics technologies. Continuously research and apply best practices in data visualization, analytics, artificial intelligence, automation, semantic layers, and context layers to improve reporting capabilities, enable more accurate AI-assisted insights, and identify new ways to solve business problems.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in BI development, data analytics, or reporting.
- Proficiency in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Strong SQL skills for data querying and optimization.
- Experience with data modeling and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of data visualization best practices and UI/UX principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to think creatively, challenge assumptions, and design innovative BI solutions that simplify complex data for non-technical users.
- Experience using AI-enabled tools, automation, or advanced analytics concepts to improve reporting, streamline workflows, enhance user experiences, or uncover new business insights.
Preferred Qualification

- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or R.
- Familiarity with cloud-based BI solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Certifications in BI tools or data analytics platforms.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development solutions and conversational analytics tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Snowflake Cortex/Cortex Analyst, and Cowork, as well as natural language analytics and semantic layer concepts.
