Job Description

The Accounting Specialist supports the Finance team by performing day-to-day administrative and transactional activities that ensure accurate and timely financial operations. This role is responsible for posting routine journal entries, completing basic account reconciliations, and assisting with invoice processing and payment activities. The Finance Specialist will also maintain well-organized financial records and contribute to ad hoc projects as needed. This position is well-suited for a detail-oriented, organized individual who is eager to learn and grow within a finance environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare routine journal entries and perform basic account reconciliations
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation to support audits and internal controls
  • Code centrally processed invoices, communicate with vendors, and assist with payment preparation
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and completing assigned tasks
  • Perform administrative accounting tasks, including maintaining spreadsheets and updating internal reports
  • Assist with ad hoc projects, research, and data clean-up as assigned
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and consistency in financial processes

Job Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required
  • One or more years of accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Problem-solving mindset with a willingness to learn new systems and processes
  • Ability to work in an office environment, including extended periods of sitting or standing, and occasional lifting or carrying of materials and supplies
