Job Description

The Director of Fleet is responsible for vehicle innovation, federal and state regulatory compliance.  This role will be responsible for vehicle maintenance programs and standards, operating budget development and review, related costs and efficiency control measures and reporting of our multi-functional vehicle fleet (Transport, Delivery, Warehouse & Support) vehicles within Coke Northeast. Direct responsibility for the Fleet Managers and their operating results. Provide support, standards, tools and leadership to the field operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Oversight of all centralized strategic fleet asset management, including business plan development and execution, collaboration efforts, supplier relationship management, life cycle vehicle procurement (buy and lease) and development and maintenance of parts & fuel programs
  • Manage the annual fleet capital budget process and ordering of equipment.
  • Direct ownership of all aspects of OPEX budgeting and fleet shop operational expenditures, including equipment procurement, preventive, prescriptive, and predictive maintenance scheduling.
  • Create, develop, implement and maintain the short and long term Fleet Strategy, vehicle specifications and standardization processes & procedures for Coke Northeast vehicle fleet
  • Works closely with Coca-Cola bottlers to ensure standardization and maximization of leverage with external suppliers
  • Lead development across fleet and driver operations, including telematics and data integration with Geotab, Osapiens, Trip Vision, and CONA.
  • Directly manages Fleet Operations Managers and Data Parts Manager in each Division
  • Initiate, analyze and manage innovation, technology and suppliers related to fleet equipment, maintenance and fuel
  • Develop and manage best-in-class policies, processes and reporting for vehicle planned maintenance programs to insure the fleet readiness and extend the serviceable life of the fleet assets
  • Oversight of all centralized fleet requirements and ongoing vehicle support, including purchase and refurbishing/decommissioning decisions
  • Maintains responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • Design, implement, and manage policies, procedures, and reporting to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations on transportation, safety, and environmental issues related to fleet.
  • Administer vehicle registration and permitting, ensuring compliance with state fuel tax, IFTA, HUT, HUF, and IRS Form 2290 requirements
  • Responsible for providing and maintaining the specifications and requirements for the standardization of the fleet, fleet parts, fuel and maintenance programs. 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, transportation management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), Fleet Management Software, SAP Software, and Preventative Maintenance Programs
  • Must be able to develop and deliver presentations as required for associates at the hourly, supervisory, managerial, as well as, executive levels
  • Fleet environment and Fleet systems experience along with extensive preventive maintenance experience
  • Physical requirements: Sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel/squat, climb stairs, overhead reach, grasp, and lift, carry, push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license, driving record within policy guidelines, and insurance that meets or exceeds company requirements
