Compensation: $96,000 – $110,000 based on experience. Bonus eligible and includes an auto allowance.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours. Preferred home base is South Windsor, CT, Greenfield, MA, or Albany, NY Sales Center. Regional Northeast travel required, approximately 75–90%, with higher travel during academy weeks.

Job Description
The CDL Trainer/DOT Manager will be responsible for training and developing CDL candidates and improving drivers for Coke Northeast distribution teams. This includes but is not limited to CDL permit preparation, CDL road exams and refresher training for all drivers of Coke Northeast. Verifying DOT compliance, ensuring safe operations of our delivery fleet and improving culture and morale of our distribution teams to make Coke Northeast the preferred employer of professional drivers. In addition, this leader will be responsible for assisting the Sr. Delivery Operations Manager in continuous improvement of Coke Northeast’s CDL School and DOT Compliance
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with the Sr. Delivery Operations Manager to maintain Coke Northeast as a best-in-class CDL School
- Assist individuals with CDL Permit obtainment when needed
- Conduct 4-week standardized training for students of the Coke Northeast CDL School compliant with all FMSCA regulations and state requirements for successful CDL-A licensing
- Train with strict adherence to processes and document and record each CDL student’s progress and performance throughout the training program
- Facilitate the retention and maintenance of training records and compliance documents for the CDL training program.
- Evaluate student progress, address concerns or gaps, document progress.
- Visit facilities to conduct refresher training on Pre & Post Trip inspections and Gate Checks
- Oversee Lytx & Geotab platforms while driving improvement in key safety metrics.
- Conduct Driver accident remediation and safety training as required.
- Train teams and maintain processes to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including DOT, DVIR and OSHA regulations
- Train distribution Managers & Supervisors in performing random Pre & Post trip inspections to ensure teams are performing thorough, quality, daily/weekly DVIR audits (gate checks)
- Perform random gate checks and inspections of our fleet to ensure safe operations and DOT compliance
- Travel to any of the facilities of Coca-Cola Beverages Northeast to assist in training, refresher training, CDL Academy when required.
- Assist the Sr. Delivery Ops Manager in JJ Keller, Lytx, and Geo Tab platforms
- Become a PIT certified train the trainer to assist facilities in PIT Training
Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
- Required to possess and a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for over 2 years and maintain clean driving record within MVR guidelines required. CDL license must be unrestricted to both automatic and manual vehicles.
- Ability to operate a manual or powered pallet jack, become certified trainer for PIT driver jack certification
- Ability to effectively lead, develop, manage, and motivate employees
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization, to clearly articulate relevant ideas, opinions, and information with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability and willingness to travel daily throughout the Company, although some traveling will be day trips, frequent travel will require overnight stays; up to 90% travel depending on Sales Center base location.
- Ability and willingness to stay overnight for a period of up to 4 nights in a week, based on CDL School location
- Ability and willingness to attend CDL Road Exams including Saturday if necessary.
- 3+ Years of experience in Distribution preferred
- 3+ Years of previous supervisory and/or leadership experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
