Summary

The Manufacturing Finance Manager is responsible for the development and execution of the Supply Chain Operations financial annual budgeting plan as well as the monthly rolling estimate forecasts for the launch of a new Manufacturing facility. Focusing on capital investments, life cycle planning and strategy. This role will also assist in capital expenditure financial analysis for the plant facilities. The position is located at the company’s corporate headquarters in Philadelphia, PA.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the timely build of the annual budget, translating key operational and strategic assumptions into the financial plan. He/she must host meetings with Plant Directors, Shared-Service accounting management, and key finance stakeholders to deliver annual operating plan on time and in full.
  • Analyze financial results comparing against key performance indicators such as Plan, historical results, and other specified benchmarks that explain operational performance.
  • Provide oversight of our Shared Service team’s reconciliation of standard costs to actual costs, analysis of yields, PPV, conversion costs, and maintenance of perpetual inventory system.
  • Responsible for the Plant capital asset lifecycle (project scenario modeling, approval workflow management, and proper settlement of projects to the Fixed Asset Sub Ledger).
  • Develop clear, well-formatted executive presentations that summarize relevant financial and operational information.
  • Establish regular on-site meeting routines to foster interdepartmental trust, communication, and knowledge sharing to ensure business objective alignment and execution.
  • Develop and recommend creative solutions for continuous improvement of processes.
  • Responsible for certain functions of the monthly close process such as but not limited to review of prepared monthly journal entries, review of prepared monthly account reconciliations, invoices, and exposure reports.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Ability to influence and lead an off-site staff from shared service team.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The Manufacturing Finance Manager will be an accomplished accounting professional with proven financial and financial systems skills, solid business acumen and leadership ability. Additionally, the candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business management is required; MBA, CPA, and CMA certifications are viewed as a plus.
  • 8-10 years of finance and/or accounting experience required.
  • Experience with a manufacturing, retail, or consumer packaged goods company is strongly desired.
  • Excellent general accounting skills, thorough working knowledge of US GAAP standards, and ability to research and document accounting issues. Must understand costing methods (Actual, Standard, etc.).
  • Ability to analyze financial information and prepare reports to management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau).
  • SAP, or large ERP system, experience required.

The Manufacturing Finance Manager must also possess the following traits:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to collaborate well as part of a team.
  • Strong aptitude for reporting systems and desire for process improvements required.
  • Strong organization skills. Ability to organize complex projects, manage multiple tasks, and maintain highest level of integrity.
  • Must possess strong computer skills and be a self-starter, results-driven, and detailed-oriented.
