Summary
The Vertique Systems & Continuous Improvement Manager is the single-threaded owner of Vertique system performance across Liberty Coca‑Cola’s three automated Vertique facilities. This role is accountable for driving sustained throughput (rate), standardizing processes, and building a disciplined operating culture that ensures alignment, reliability, and continuous improvement across all systems.
This leader will partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Business Intelligence, and Manufacturing specifically, to align with secondary packaging (trays, shrinkage, etc.) and ensure Vertique is operated the same way, to the same standards, every day—with a relentless focus on rate, uptime, start‑time discipline, and process adherence. This position will report directly to the VP of Sales and Operations and will require travel throughout Liberty’s territory.
Responsibilities
System Performance & Rate Ownership
- Support the improvement of Vertique throughput performance (UPH) across all three systems, identifying gaps to target and driving corrective action plans.
- Establish clear performance standards for start‑up time, pause time, run hours, and utilization, and hold sites accountable.
- Lead root cause analysis for rate loss events (people, process, system) and ensure countermeasures are implemented and sustained.
- Leads efforts to improve Vertique UPH performance across all three systems by identifying performance gaps and driving corrective action plans.
- Partner with BI and Operations leaders to define and monitor standard Vertique KPI dashboards (daily, weekly, monthly).
Process Standardization & Best Practices
- Define, document, and maintain standard Vertique operating procedures across all systems (sourcing, replenishment, palletizing, check‑in, changeovers, cleaning, and start‑up).
- Eliminate site‑to‑site variability by driving one standard way of operating Vertique.
- Lead best‑practice sharing across facilities and ensure improvements are replicated system‑wide.
- Serve as Liberty’s internal Vertique subject‑matter expert, coordinating with Vertique/System Logistics as needed.
Continuous Improvement & Capability Building
- Identify and prioritize continuous improvement opportunities that improve rate, stability, accuracy, and labor efficiency.
- Lead structured improvement efforts (Kaizens, pilots, trials) tied directly to Vertique performance outcomes.
- Coach site leaders and supervisors on Vertique fundamentals, performance drivers, and operating discipline.
- Ensure lessons learned from downtime, faults, and misses are institutionalized—not relearned.
Culture, Accountability & Alignment
- Establish a culture of process discipline, ownership, and accountability within Vertique operations.
- Align expectations across Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering so Vertique performance is treated as a shared outcome, not a siloed responsibility.
- Reinforce safety, cleanliness, and care of the system as non‑negotiables tied to performance.
- Act as the connective tissue between sites to ensure consistent messaging, standards, and expectations.
Cross‑Functional & External Partnership
- Partner with Operations Directors, Maintenance leaders, Engineering, and BI to drive Vertique outcomes.
