Job Overview

Come join our dynamic team at Red Classic!  This position will sit out of the Nashville, TN location, and will manage our Mid-West locations in Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, and Memphis/Nashville, TN.

The Sr Manager Regional Operations provides leadership to the Red Classic transportation operation function within the assigned region. The role is responsible for delivering industry-leading, optimal productivity and service levels while meeting the needs of our drivers, office staff, and customers in the assigned region. This includes but is not limited to productivity management, performance improvement, KPI performance, facility & driver compliance, and coaching team within assigned region for maximum performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads and drives operations business transformation and ongoing improvement to enhance growth. Provides effective change management leadership to obtain buy-in from all levels of operations and cross-collaborative partners within the assigned region.
  • Provides a high level of customer service and leadership to assigned drivers to establish a good working relationship with each driver in the assigned area, driving high levels of teammate engagement and exceptional customer service. 
  • Effectively manage driver capacity needs within the assigned region, including meeting or exceeding retention goals, engagement levels, and customer commitments. Effectively communicate with assigned customer groups on all levels while developing positive and solid relationships to enhance growth and working cross-functionally to resolve customer or company operational issues when necessary.
  • Develops, administers, and monitors procedures that will help ensure optimal driver, unit performance, utilization, and revenue
  • Manages facility operations to ensure that all personnel complies with all company policies, procedures, processes, safety rules, and governmental regulations. This includes Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, namely hours of service
  • Manages, leads, and motivates a team to deliver results by communicating company goals, safety practices, and deadlines; engaging and developing teammates through effective performance management, coaching, and training
  • Implements continuous improvement methods while maintaining a focus on teammate engagement and embodying company purpose and values to inspire servant leadership.

  • Ability to coach people leaders and improve performance.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management, teammates, and customers.
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvement.
  • Lead change management efforts that drive successful implementation 
  • Ability to work under stress while remaining professional at all times. Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented either verbally or in writing. Ability to recognize, evaluate and resolve problems using independent judgment.
  • Ability to deal professionally with all levels of management, employees, vendors, and both internal and external customers
  • Possess a complete understanding of P&L statements and associated cost improvement measures Ability to communicate well with others using above-average writing skills and organizational skills Ability to take direction and follow-through
  • Experience with Excel, Tableau, and knowledge of transportation management systems, preferably TMW
  • Required travel up to 50%

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Knowledge acquired through 5 to 7 years work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Management

Work Environment

  • Office Environment 
  • Up to 50% travel, may top 60% - 65% at times.
