Job Overview
An RC Logistics Procurement Representative is a key player in the transportation and logistics industry, who manages the execution of shipments for RCTS customers by soliciting and negotiating with carrier partners. They are responsible for building long-term relationships with carriers and customers, forecasting, and capitalizing on changing market conditions, and supporting the Customer Service and Business Development team. They also need to communicate effectively, resolve problems, and identify new opportunities to reduce cost and maximize customer service.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Works in tandem with customer and carrier partners to ensure all loads pick up and deliver on time and any customer and carrier issues are quickly identified and resolved.
- Routes freight to optimal internal or external carrier partner to provide the best service to the customer while optimizing the cost of the supply chain.
- Leads the routing of freight optimally to ensure the balancing daily yard capacities and optimal trailer availability, while remaining apprised to carrier constraints, customer volumes, and industry trends.
- Daily solicitation of new and existing carrier base to develop relationships and find business opportunities that support the sales teams. Builds and develops relationships with multiple levels of contacts within carrier accounts and converts new relationships into repeat business.
- Utilizes industry and market knowledge to successfully negotiate high volumes of spot market pricing agreements with carriers to maximize profitability and ensure adequate capacity levels. Evaluates market trends, seasonality, and their impacts on costs to maximize company profitability.
- Ensures the successful execution of all customer expectations for shipments. Delivers industry-leading customer service to all internal and external trading partners.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge acquired through 1 to 3 years of work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-3 years Logistics/Carrier Procurement experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Logistics, Supply Chain, Sales, or another related field.
Work Environment
Normal office environment, some warehouse, and manufacturing plant exposure (noisy conditions, extreme temperatures)
