Job Overview

The Operations Planning Project Manager plans, designs, and implements strategic routing resource plans for Sales, Distribution, and Merchandising roles within the organization. This role evaluates current resources in a location to improve efficiencies, customer service, and profitability. The Operations Planning Project Manager collaborates and works cross-functionally with Sales and Distribution leadership to develop effective plans. The role engages and works directly with additional support functions (Master Data, Customer Care, CONA) to ensure the plans are inputted correctly.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan and design strategic routing solutions for sales, distribution, and merchandising functions. This entails data management, frequency analysis, and balancing of routes to ensure effective and efficient routes
  • Prepare initial data for a project using routing software and master data systems. Scheduling of project timelines with local leadership and validating scope and goals associated with the project
  • Complete financial analysis of project, provide visit plans and communicate resource needs
  • Finalize plan, prepare data for successful transmission, communicate and notify all departments associated with the project
  • Provide post planning processes to field, validate successful data transmission, update reporting, and tracking

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge and understanding of sales, delivery, and merchandising operations
  • Attention to detail; influential and fact-based decision making
  • Establish collaborative and cross-functional relationships
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Analytical; effective time management skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • DSD sales and delivery operations background

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge acquired through 1 to up to 3 years of work experience
  • Manager experience
