Job Overview

The Director Region & Customer Commercialization will lead the team responsible for translating channel commercialization strategies into local commercial tactics by empowering the local regions to develop and implement channel-centric plans that meet the local needs of the market. The Director will work collaboratively with the Region leadership, RGM team and Consumer Connections to maximize the local Region commercial plan. The Director will also work collaboratively with the corporate customer teams on the creation and implementation of frontline sales commercial communications (Picture of Success, or PicOS) that translates to specific action-oriented accountabilities of frontline sales associates. The Director will identify and provide marketing resources to effectively assist in both Region and Customer plan creation to enable successful implementation of company-wide commercial strategy. This position will be corporate based, with up to 50% travel required. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop CCCI’s Region Commercialization Strategy. The strategy will implement key channel commercialization strategies and initiatives while establishing the empowerment of tactics to customize the channel plans to meet the needs of the local region.
  • Lead the Region Commercialization Team in the development and implementation of customized region commercialization plans. Identify key needs of the local regions and generate creative and customized commercial solutions to meet those needs while achieving objectives set forth in the channel-centric commercial strategies. Work collaboratively with corporate and local customer leads, customer marketing, RGM and consumer connections teams to identify and implement commercial solutions that lead to local commercial strategy implementations.
  • Develop and implement a process to align localized commercial marketing projects with the key stakeholders to ensure adherence and alignment with brand and company standards, policies and procedures. Ensure projects are appropriately resourced and positioned for success within agreed upon SLAs.
  • Develop and implement a process for the Region Commercialization Team to recommend brand and package additions and subtractions from the region commercial plan. Utilize brand and category indices to create a product segmentation strategy that aligns with consumer preference, customer makeup, and channel strategy. Work collaboratively with the Channel Commercialization Teams and the Customer Team to develop and implement these recommendations.
  • Lead the frontline sales communication platform (Picture of Success or PicOS) to ensure effective and efficient communications that lead to enhanced execution of specific commercial activities. Develop process to ensure Commercialization PicOS team works collaboratively with customer teams on the creation and implementation of the frontline sales and operations communications.
  • Ensure CCCI’s selling organization is equipped with the tool and resources they need to successfully implement commercial merchandising recommendations into frontline sales communications. Provide merchandising standards for on-shelf and display commercial activities that align to company strategies. Create and communicate an effective library of these commercial execution resources.
  • Serve as the CCCI commercial lead on the PicOS workstreams including tool development and enhanced execution (Execute, Sell, Hunt) workstreams.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Marketing Strategy – Ability to understand the importance of long-term brand and channel commercial strategy while at the same time be committed to development and implementation of short-term brand and channel commercial initiatives that have a direct impact on the local market units and key customer goals and objectives.
  • Communication Skills – Ability to develop and communicate commercial activities to respective audiences. Communications need to be clear and concise while at the same time provide the necessary amount of information that drives clear accountability and specific action to be taken.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Ability to work collaboratively with the local market unit team including sales operations, key customer leads, RGM and channel commercialization to translate company-wide commercial strategies into applicable market unit tactics.
  • Project Management Skills – Ability to develop detailed commercial plans that clearly articulate actions and accountability to all constituents. Ability to balance a wide array of projects and meet key timelines while following established process for brand and legal approvals.
  • Data Driven Decision Making – Ability to review a wide array of data analytics and organize the inputs to arrive at a specific conclusion or objective.
  • Commercial Marketing – Ability to establish consumer-centric marketing strategies and translate them into customer (retailer)-centric commercial initiatives that meet the needs of the channel.
  • Type of Experience: The ideal candidate would have leadership experience in sales operations with a beverage distributor / bottler and experience in building a team through the implementation of a long-term strategy.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge acquired through 5 to 7 years relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

Degree in Marketing, Business or similar applicable field.
