Job Overview
The Data Modeler is responsible for designing and testing enterprise data products, articulating and documenting why a data product is designed the way it is as part of a larger strategy, working with analysts to balance technical and functional requirements, and partnering with Data Engineers to code, build, and implement the data product.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Proactively identify / innovate data solutions that answer business questions
- Design, test and maintain data products ( tables, fields, glossaries / standards )
- Maintain documentation ( Data models and Standards ) of data products
- Facilitate meetings to gather requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills
- Ability to mentally acquire/process large amounts of information (including complex business logic) and how it applies to different business processes.
- Understanding of Data Warehousing, Data Migration/Lineage, Data Profiling, Data Presentation, and Statistical Analysis.
- Develop strong working relationships with process owners, data stewards, product owners to create trust and confidence in data solutions.
- Curiosity – insatiable desire to understand the mindset and business process of your business partner.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (4 years)
- 3 to up to 5 years
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business Administration is preferred
