Job Overview
The Category Space Analyst will provide and perform strategic business analysis of the Home Market and Food Service On-Premise Commercial Plan. This role is accountable for developing the general market merchandising standards along with customer chain merchandising and planogram requests in all SuperChannels to optimize shelf space, inventory turns, and profit margins for our products. This role will provide insights to leadership on market trends, and profitable package mixes, while recommending space adjustments and shifts to support growing and declining categories. This role will manage multiple projects with flexibility and adaptability to meet deadlines through developing productive working relationships and providing overall cross-functional support to various teams to deliver the company’s overall business plan.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and execute custom planogram & PicOS merchandising image requests for displays, racks, coolers, endcaps, etc. in all SuperChannels, to optimize shelf space, inventory turns, and profit margins for our products.
- Collaborates with key departments, including Channel Commercialization, Category Space, Customer Development and Product Supply to develop and maintain the most profitable, general market merchandising standards
- Analyzes scan data, competitive trade areas, consumer insights, category trends, and balance days of supply for large key customers to meet retailer and CCCI Merchandising guidelines
- Provides insights to leadership on market trends, and profitable package mixes, while recommending space adjustments and shifts to support growing and declining categories with Customer Development and/or Channel Commercialization on special projects, ad hoc analysis, and other PicOS initiatives
- Recommends continuous improvement methods and manages ad-hoc requests for multiple projects while maintaining customer focus, and embodying company purpose and values to inspire
- Reports a post-analysis at the end of each reset project following the template supplied by the Space Planning Manager that is used to understand how retailers are trending as compared to before the reset
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Strong analytical background required
- Attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills required
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments with time-sensitive and critical deadlines
- MS Office experience including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Power Pivot, SQL, Tableau, and SharePoint
- Possess strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects with flexibility and adaptability to meet deadlines
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge acquired through 1 to 3 years work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or similar
