Job Overview

The Accounting and Financial Systems Analyst position assists the Accounting and Financial Systems team with accounting process improvements and SAP financial system projects. This position will assist with all accounting processes, financial master data, month-end processing, and financial reporting. The position will also develop skills to serve as the internal expert on all general ledger postings, business processes, and transactions within SAP.

Duties & Responsibilities

•    Assist with routine financial accounting processes such as master data creation and maintenance, journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations
•    Assist with SOX testing and other department routines and projects as needed
•    Compile and create Accounting and Financial reports and/or maintain existing reports to support business needs
•    Assists management on project work, process development, and process improvement opportunities
•    Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements (balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements) by collecting, and reviewing business performance and financial information; summarizing financial status
•    Serve as a liaison for special projects outside of Finance in coordination with other functions across the organization.
•    Performs other duties as assigned
 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

•    3-5 years of experience with SAP or other ERP systems 
•    Expert in MS Excel 
•    Accounting knowledge and experience with balance sheet reconciliation, month-end close, and reporting process
•    Strong technical aptitude with problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills
•    Excellent communication, planning, and organization skills
•    Possess a high degree of self-motivation and initiative
 

Minimum Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree (4 years) 
•    Knowledge acquired through 3 to up to 5 years of work experience
 

Preferred Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Financial Information Systems
