Role Details
- Work Location – Toronto
- Hybrid Environment – This position currently offers a hybrid work schedule. Subject to change. The in-office requirement is a minimum of three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday), with the flexibility to work remotely on the remaining days.
- Salary – The full base salary range for this position is from $82,800 - $115,000 annually. The starting base salary offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, role complexity, skills, experience, and internal equity.

About This Opportunity
We are recruiting for a Cybersecurity Specialist to join our Security Engineering team. This role is ideal for a versatile technical professional who can connect security strategy with hands-on implementation.
More than a compliance role, this position focuses on building and strengthening secure infrastructure. You will help design, secure, and scale our environment, with a strong focus on cloud security and the maturity of our Identity and Access Management (IAM) lifecycle.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to lead security projects and initiatives from inception to completion.
- Drive the technical maturity of our cloud environment and IAM lifecycle, optimizing RBAC, secrets management, and modern authentication protocols.
- Lead enterprise-wide penetration testing by scoping assessments with external vendors, coordinating testing across IT and OT environments, and driving remediation of identified findings.
- Build, implement, and maintain security controls across IT and OT environments, ensuring strong guardrails are embedded in cloud and infrastructure deployments.
- Conduct technical security assessments across IT and OT environments to identify vulnerabilities, configuration drift, and structural weaknesses before they can be exploited.
- Review and update cybersecurity policies and processes to align with current best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the primary security contact for technical integrations across the organization.
- Develop and maintain scripts to automate compliance checks, routine security audits, and provision workflows to reduce manual effort.
Qualifications
- College diploma or degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- At least one of the following certifications is required; additional certifications are considered an asset: CISSP (preferred), CCSP, CISM, relevant GIAC certification (e.g., GSEC or GCIA), or AZ-500.
- 3–5 years of experience in a hands-on cybersecurity engineering or advanced technical security role is required.
- Proven experience implementing and managing security technologies, including PAM, firewalls, CASB, cloud security, key management, and DLP, is required.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI is an asset.
- Experience with security challenges and controls in OT/ICS environments is an asset.
- Experience securing CI/CD pipelines is an asset.
- Experience scripting or programming in languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation is an asset.
- Deep hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is required.
- Strong knowledge of industry security frameworks and benchmarks, including NIST, ISO, SOC 2, and CIS Baselines.
- Excellent documentation skills for technical procedures and reporting are required.
Proven ability to lead projects independently and take ownership of security initiatives from requirements gathering through final deployment. - Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex technical security risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
