Role Details

  • Work Location – Toronto
  • Hybrid Environment – This position currently offers a hybrid work schedule. Subject to change. The in-office requirement is a minimum of three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), with the flexibility to work remotely on the remaining days.
  • Salary – The base salary for the position is $108,000- $150,000. The starting base salary is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, role complexity, experience and internal equity. 
  • Initial Posting Close Date – May 29, 2026

About This Opportunity

We are recruiting for a Senior Data Scientist, Advanced Analytics to join the Advanced Analytics function within the Technology team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Science.


The Advanced Analytics team partners across the organization to solve complex, high-impact business problems using data, analytics, and machine learning. This work spans commercial strategy, sales execution, and supply chain, including demand modeling, promotion and trade spend optimization, pricing and elasticity analysis, network and inventory optimization, and scenario modeling.

 

In this role, you will lead cross-functional initiatives and collaborate closely with business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights. You will play a key role in advancing how analytics is applied across the organization—evolving work from exploratory analysis to scalable, production-ready solutions that support more effective planning, decision-making, and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives that apply advanced analytics techniques to deliver actionable business solutions. 
  • Enhance and maintain analytical models focused on demand drivers and price elasticity, ensuring insights are clear and impactful. 
  • Apply statistical and machine learning methods to solve complex problems in demand forecasting, product optimization, and business decision-making. 
  • Design and develop tools and processes to improve trade spend effectiveness, enabling smarter resource allocation and maximizing return on investment. 
  • Create clear and compelling data visualizations to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and business leaders to translate data insights into practical solutions that drive measurable business impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering); a Master’s degree is considered an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience in data science, advanced analytics, or applied machine learning roles, with demonstrated business impact.
  • Strong experience working with large, complex datasets, with advanced proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Expertise in statistical modeling and machine learning techniques, including regression-based models, tree-based methods (e.g., Random Forest, XGBoost), and optimization approaches.
  • Strong understanding of demand forecasting, price elasticity, promotional analytics, and scenario modeling.
  • Experience designing and delivering analytics solutions end-to-end, from exploration through to deployment.
  • Familiarity with Databricks and the Azure data ecosystem is an asset.
  • Proficiency in data visualization and storytelling, using tools such as Power BI (preferred) or Tableau.
  • Ability to communicate complex analytical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
