National Account Executive I - Wholesale & New Business Development
Work Location - Toronto or Montreal (Travel 20% of Time)
About This Opportunity
Reporting to the Director of Wholesale & New Business Development the National Account Executive, will be responsible for developing direct sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales objectives, thereby supporting the company’s business growth. This role requires an individual contributor with comprehensive knowledge of the large store grocery industry, customer management (both national and regional), revenue growth, P&L/financial acumen, contract negotiations, and customer marketing. You must also have the ability to execute highly complex or specialized projects.
In this role, you will collaborate with an integrated account team to manage key aspects of the business relationship with a large format retail customer & complete thorough analysis of new business development opportunities. You will assist in creating and implementing Annual Business Plans, support the commercialization of innovative products, and complete financial modeling for new contracts, beverage programs and item listings.
Responsibilities
- Work with the account team to manage key aspects of the business relationship with large national customer & explore new business opportunities.
- Perform financial modeling to evaluate the viability and profitability of new business opportunities. Provide detailed financial analysis to support business proposals.
- Act as a system-wide expert on strategy, business systems, and operating philosophy of assigned customer(s).
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscapes. Analyze potential market segments and target demographics to inform strategy.
- Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations highlighting the benefits and value of the company’s offerings.
- Ensure business plans and marketing activities are developed to deliver volume, profit, and customer satisfaction.
- Act as a system-wide customer expert to ensure that the Coca-Cola system understands customer(s) objectives, strategies, positioning, and needs and that Company programs are consistent with their needs.
- Requires innovative and critical thinking in originating new and improved methods, procedures, or processes.
- Responsible for contributing insights on business development in collaboration with Field Sales, Marketing, Ecommerce, Finance, Operations/Supply Chain, and other Internal Cross-Functional colleagues.
- Seamlessly able to manage multiple projects and competing complex priorities as the business dictates
- Accountable for sales forecasting and an in-depth knowledge of financial P&L management, managing budgets and retailer financial requirements.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in business or related field is preferred
- 3+ years of key account experience with a beverage/consumer packaged goods experience
Critical Competencies
- Able to demonstrate experience in sales, persuasion, negotiating and managing a medium to large book of business.
- Must have experience in managing price package plans for customers
- Proven ability to manage needs and concerns of multiple stakeholders across various business systems with business development planning experience
- Must possess a complex selling knowledge with proven ability to create & sell-in customer promotional programs & key initiatives
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and exceptional drive for results
