About This Opportunity
As the Cybersecurity Operations Manager, reporting to the Senior Manager of Cyber Security, you will play a key leadership role in nurturing and evolving our cybersecurity operations. In this role, you will guide a team of analysts and engineers in developing and operating our cybersecurity defenses, ensuring the continuous protection of our digital infrastructure.
You will oversee the Security Operations Center (SOC) to identify, respond to, and mitigate cyber threats across our enterprise. Working closely with IT, business units, and third-party providers, you will shape our cybersecurity posture and incident response capabilities to protect business continuity and resilience.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support a high-performing internal cybersecurity team, encouraging growth and collaboration.
- Oversee all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the (SOC) with a focus on teamwork, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.
- Guide the development and execution of incident detection, triage, response, and recovery processes.
- Implement and continuously improve security monitoring, SIEM, threat intelligence, Vulnerability Management and response procedures.
- Collaborate with MSSP partners to manage Tier 1 and Tier 2 security operations.
- Lead thoughtful threat hunting and advanced investigation efforts to stay ahead of emerging risks.
- Champion effective vulnerability management across all systems and environments.
- Oversee implementation and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Develop metrics and KPIs to report on security operations performance and risk posture.
- Act as a calm and trusted escalation point during critical security incidents.
- Manage and maintain security tools such as EDR, DLP, IDS/IPS, cloud security platforms, and email security solutions.
- Partner with IT, Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams on governance and audit requirements.
- Conduct regular tabletop exercises and simulations to enhance incident preparedness.
- Mentor, train, and develop the internal cybersecurity team.
- Stay informed on emerging cyber threats, technologies, and regulatory developments.
Qualifications
- A degree in cybersecurity, information systems, or a related field is required.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, including 2+ years in a leadership or management role.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or Microsoft SC200/AZ500 are preferred.
- Proven expertise in incident response, SOC operations, SIEM platforms, and threat intelligence.
- Experience with MSSPs and managing outsourced security services.
- Knowledge of security frameworks and standards including NIST CSF, ISO 27001, MITRE ATT&CK, and CIS Controls.
- Familiarity with compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS, SOX).
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions under pressure.
