    • Shift/Hours or Hybrid Environment – 10:00pm-6:00am Sun-Fri
    • Salary/Hourly Rate – 81 000.00$-90 000.00$ + 10% Night Shift Premium(while in this position)

About This Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated, hands-on Production Supervisor to lead weekend operations at our Richmond food manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Production Manager, this highly visible, floor-focused role is critical in ensuring efficient, safe, and compliant performance across our production lines.

The right candidate will bring strong food manufacturing experience, including machine operations, troubleshooting, and team leadership. More importantly, they will demonstrate a proactive approach: not just monitoring and reacting, but engaging with operators, anticipating issues, and driving real-time solutions.

As part of the leadership team, the Production Supervisor is expected to set the tone on the floor. While this is a salaried role based on a 40-hour week, there may be occasions where additional effort is required to support critical priorities or business continuity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate daily activities on the production floor.
  • Train, coach, and develop employees to achieve optimal performance.
  • Foster a safety-first culture through crew talks and strict adherence to GMP and regulatory protocols.
  • Provide hands-on support with machine troubleshooting and operator guidance.
  • Manage and support WCB claims in collaboration with employees and HR, ensuring timely reporting and follow-up.
  • Maximize equipment utilization, minimize downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure smooth communication and seamless shift handovers.
  • Uphold GMP, ISO 9001, OSHA, food safety, and quality standards.
  • Flex across shifts when required to support business continuity.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in engineering, Food Science, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing WCB claims and supporting safe, timely return-to-work processes.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills; maintenance supervision experience is an asset.
  • Solid understanding of GMP and quality systems.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP experience is an asset.
