About This Opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager, the Distribution Center Manager (DCM) will support and direct the daily operations  of a distribution center by managing several direct reports and many indirect reports. Direct reports may include the Warehouse Manager, Distribution Manager, Fleet Supervisor and Technical Service Supervisors. Other responsibilities and opportunities include working with union leadership to develop short- and long-term strategies, as well as participating in discussions on innovations and operational optimization opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all logistics activities to ensure efficient delivery, fleet, technical service and warehouse operations. Full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility to achieve Operating Expense (OPEX) budgets.
  • Maintain complex relationships, requiring the development of relationships while adhering to our policies and practices.
  • Build a high performing team with a strong foundation of integrity, accountability, and corporate messaging.
  • Identify, plan, and lead the execution of optimization initiatives in collaboration with key stakeholders, suppliers and senior management.
  • Ensure that all regulatory compliance standards and facility policies are communicated and adhered to (CNESST safety standards) and ensure its promotion and team engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required  
  • 5+ years of experience required    
  • Several years of management experience in a large unionized company preferred                            
  • Strong business acumen and presentation skills to multiple audiences, from front-line staff to senior and executive management
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and NESTC standards, and experience tracking and reporting on key performance indicators
  • Previous experience with SAP is an asset
  • Experience and proficiency with Excel
