Role Details

 

  • Work Location – Calgary Producion Facility
  • Shift/Hours or Hybrid Environment – Various shifts, as required. 
  • The full base salary range for this position is from $82,800 - $92,000 annually. The starting base salary offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, role complexity, skills, experience, and internal equity.

About This Opportunity

The Quality Assurance Supervisor is a fulltime position located at the Bottling Production Facility in Calgary. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Assurance Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities within the quality assurance department while working in close collaboration with the members of the production facility. The incumbent ensures that quality assurance activities are performed correctly and efficiently on the assets in the production facility utilizing preventive and predictive quality assurance tactics.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall ingredients, product, and package quality to ensure all standards and specifications are met.
  • Establishes operational procedures in co-operation with Quality Assurance, Production & Maintenance Team.
  • Ensures that all QA equipment are in good operating order.
  • Ensures that all corporate, franchise owners, and federal and provincial policies, standards and guidelines are maintained.
  • Monitor production processes; make periodic checks and adjust equipment according to corporate requirements. Troubleshoot processes as required.
  • Manage QA Technicians in QA lab and syrup room.
  • Hire, train, evaluate, develop, and monitor QA employees.
  • Review and maintain proper documentation for compliance; ensure all logs are properly and accurately recorded.
  • Perform internal audits on quality, food safety, safety, and environmental standards as part of the management systems.
  • Manage water treatment systems and Effluent treatment processes.
  • Ensure all work activities meet the Environmental Health & Safety Standards.
  • Participate and support external audits for maintaining quality and food safety certification.
  • Participate/lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement Projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or related discipline.
  • Strong organization, planning, and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience working in an ISO/Food Safety environment.
  • Excellent communication skills; both oral and written.
  • Ability to solve problems with groups of people.
  • Labor relations/Union experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge & Experience in Water treatment systems in food and beverage industry.
  • HACCP & FSSC 22000 knowledge/Experience.
  • Good manufacturing Practice (GMP) experience within the food and beverage industry preferred.
  • 2+ years leadership experience preferred.
  • Basic computer and database application skills.
