Role Details

  • Work Location – Brampton
  • Hybrid Environment – This position currently offers a hybrid work schedule and is subject to change. The in-office requirement is a minimum of three days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely on the remaining two days. In addition, this role requires working out of the London, ON office approximately 4–6 times per month.
  • Salary – The base salary for the position is $82,800- $115,000. The starting base salary is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, role complexity, experience and internal equity.

About This Opportunity

We are recruiting a Finance Business Manager to join our Finance team. This is a high impact role partnering closely with the General Manager (Senior Director level), providing financial insights that directly influence revenue growth, operating income, and key performance outcomes across the Sales Centres.

 

In this role, you will support regional strategy, financial planning (BP/RE), and business reviews; identify risks and opportunities; and translate data into actionable insights. You will also partner on growth initiatives such as customer acquisitions and channel level promotions, ensuring alignment with accounting standards, company policies, and governance requirements.

 

The scope of this role may also include support across Supply Chain Finance, Inventory, Operating Units, Customer Excellence, and Customer Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform holistic financial performance analysis of Sales Centres, including in-depth review of Profit & Loss statements, with clear reporting on revenue and Opex performance.
  • Identify weekly gaps in revenue and gross profit (GP), and partner with the General Manager (GM) to develop action plans to drive growth or recover variances.
  • Provide regular insights on business performance, highlighting risks and opportunities, and collaborate with GMs to mitigate financial impact.
  • Partner with Distribution Centre Managers (DCMs) to review monthly Opex performance, with a focus on labour efficiency and key cost drivers; identify, quantify, track, and report cost-saving and productivity initiatives.
  • Develop profitable and sustainable regional strategies, including short- and long-term plans, and prepare financial plans for Sales Centres and
  • Distribution Centres aligned with Operating Unit (OU) priorities.
  • Support identification and evaluation of customer- and channel-level opportunities, ensuring financial justification and approvals align with the Chart of Authority (COA).
  • Conduct post-spend evaluations for major customer commitments, develop alternative plans for variances, and report outcomes to OU leadership.
  • Prepare and submit accurate financial statements and performance reporting to OU leadership and Head Office within established timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, internal controls, and the Chart of Authority; collaborate with GMs, DCMs, and functional leaders to address gaps identified through self-assessments or internal audits.
  • Partner closely with General Managers, DCMs, District Sales Managers (DSMs), and Senior Leadership, and provide monthly financial reporting to the Head Office Finance team.
  • Deliver detailed analytics and insights to the GM on Sales Centre performance, including weekly reporting on revenue and GP, guidance on achieving revenue and operating income targets, and monthly analysis of revenue, Opex, and operating income.
  • Ensure all financial plans align with Operating Unit priorities.
  • Build a strong understanding of local market dynamics and operating environments, and drive continuous improvement in process, system compliance, and control effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred. 
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive finance experience, preferably within a mid size or large CPG or distribution environment. 
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to challenge stakeholders, take decisive action, and deliver practical business solutions. 
  • Excellent collaboration, relationship building, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate financial insights into clear recommendations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • SAP experience is a strong asset; experience with Access is an asset.
  • Excellent critical thinking, planning, interpersonal, and communication skills.
