Role Details

  • Work Location – Barrie, ON
  • Shift/Hours - 4:30 PM to 1:00 AM
  • The full base salary range for this position is from $79,200 -  $101,000 annually. The starting base salary offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, role complexity, skills, experience, and internal equity.

About This Opportunity

Reporting to the Distribution Centre Manager, the Warehouse supervisor is on the warehouse floor to lead their team and ensure the products are properly received, stored, and shipped. The supervisor works as a coach and mentor to their team. To succeed in this position, the supervisor must be capable of planning the workload, motivating their team, and offering great customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of 30 unionized warehouse employees, while respecting budgetary constraints                              
  • Maintain a safe work environment to enforce health and safety policies and regulations in the workplace
  • Coach, lead and mentor all warehouse employees
  • Oversee the storage of, and the shipping and receiving of goods
  • Work with the supervisory and management team to develop a work environment that promotes good working relationships and ongoing communication with unionized employees
  • Develop and apply control methods to maintain a high level of labour efficiency 
  • Take part in any other related projects or tasks

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. Experience and/or education in a related field preferred. 
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience in a unionized storage or distribution environment.
  • Be a leader, a good communicator, and a convener as needed.
  • Possess excellent organization and time-management skills.
  • Ability to make sound recommendations based on systematic evaluations.
  • Ability to provide guidance, motivation, and training for development of the team. 
  • Ability to cultivate, manage and foster a diverse team of employees.
  • Familiar with Office and SAP computer tools.
